I would like to invite you to escape into the future, to a place called Vantropolis.
Immerse yourself in my future vision of Vancouver, a clean, mindful and peaceful place on planet Earth.
I remember it was a rainy and dark night in April 2019. I was walking through the streets of the city of Vancouver and suddenly had an inspiration when I saw one of the modern buildings. It reminded me of a very old science fiction movie.
My imagination grew stronger and stronger, and I began to create the first image with the Vancouver skyline.
During my creative process, I was inspired by the 1927 German expressionist science fiction drama “Metropolis” by Fritz Lang.

EXPRESSION IS PHOTOGRAPHY I believe the artist, given his/her acute ability to connect with the world in a passionate and intense way. While at the same time interacting with it on an abstract level, needs a mean of expression to decode this connection and to transmit it to others, while exploring its meaning. For me, that means of expression is photography. There is no single meaning or universal truth in art, but each person has their own interpretation, which depends in a large part on their personal emotions and beliefs. THE ARTIST'S EMOTION I see fine art photography as a manifestation of the artist’s emotion in front of the world, as well as a manifestation of my life experiences materialized into my artistic vision and eventually into my photography. This leads me to consider my photography as an "autobiographical photography" intertwined with my life and fed by the emotions that my interaction with the world triggers. THE USE OF BLACK AND WHITE The use of black and white in my work is just one of the tools I use to create art in my photography but I'm aware that it’s only useful and effective in combination with other tools from my artistic toolkit.
