After retiring from a 30-year career in her own business, a trip to India provoked a journey to study photography. Primarily self-taught she has not stopped. Encouraged to submit her work to galleries focused on photography, Susan’s work has been exhibited in Rome, Barcelona and Budapest, as well as nationally. As an artist, she feels most drawn to time worn faces from different cultures, as well as the ephemeral nature of flowers. “I want to celebrate life and aging. All living things must come to an end. I try to capture the flowers in the apex of their beauty as well as their process of deterioration. My intention is to compel the viewer to see the beauty in all stages of life.” Her Liminal series focuses primarily on the ephemeral and the in-between spaces we occupy.
