My sleeved heart has doubly broken since last Tuesday.
Our beautiful sweet black princess has gone to play.
With her sister Riley.
Your heart could no longer take our sweet angel’s passing.
Your sorrow was too much.
For your nineteen year old body to bear.
Crying and meowing.
Green eyes filled with grief.
Staring off and searching,
As you slowly slipped away.
Letting us know your time is near.
Hiding under dad’s side of the bed.
Not wanting to play with Pumpkin and Dusty.
Cuddling with us one last time.
On the sofa’s pillowed edge.
Looking for Riley.
Looking and searching one more time.
Loving wrapping you up in a blue soft blanket.
Back to the veterinary office yet again.
Beautiful words of comfort from the staff.
Sitting in the same back room.
Holding your feeble body.
Next to mine as your heart beat left.
Your happiness is now our sorrow.
There is another empty space.
And another cross in the flower garden.
Pumpkin and Dusty searching for you.
As I opened the office door today.
We will be reunited again one day.
When we pass through heaven’s colored vale.
