Written by J H Martin @ A Coat for a Monkey
Invisible
But talked about
I can feel the distance grow
The pointed comment
The disgusted look
The blanking of my face
None of them
Make me feel a part of
Whatever the hell this is
They only
Amplify the sleight
Destroy the remnants of esteem
And leave me all the way out here
Without a pot to piss in
Trust me
If I could afford it
I would not be where I am
Trust me
If I could afford it
I would be as far away from all of this
As it is possible to be
You like this free market illusion
You like these laws
Made by multinationals
You like these wars and this disparity
OK – good for you
Then keep on doffing that cap mate
Keep on propping them up
Keep on feeding the beast
With your false narratives
Trust me
Stood here alone
Being ignored and abused
I could not give a fuck about
What happens to you
