Written by Zach Rahed
Why do thoughts have meaning if only to express how we feel?
Can dreams be more than subconscious fears and desires?
What do the trees and seas reveal when we are alone in the dark?
How is it that we can unabashedly betray innocence
Day after day?
Does life have to be an illusion only for unapologetic fools?
We are tears in an ocean
The universe—that ocean
The ocean—a tear
Lamenting what can never be told
Isolated within a dark eternal void
Civilization has gone mad
It is lost within itself
We are afraid, simply
To receive our dawning initiation,
The chalice of universal truth,
The metaphysical epiphanies which make dreams a true reality,
Too afraid to meet the nature of our being, of our knowledge,
Of our Instincts and ignorance,
Fears and loves
We are just who we are
Grains of sand on a beach by the seashore
Taken by the moonlight tides to die
Only to rise up like the sun
Again
And again.
Nothing more.
