Please show me to the water’s edge.
I want a fish that weighs a kilogram.
Why you say?
Because, it is for two sitting around this wobbly table.
Needing to fix our life’s woes.
While consuming the whole fish.
This is where we should be, in a watchful wonderment of words.
Waxing and waning over every syllable.
Give us strength, you gods of the literary world.
Give us energy to press on.
That we should be—
Oh so patient.
Coping with the wildcard of the western evening sky.
Words are drying on water colored,
wafer-thin paper.
Whispering their meaning throughout all of our lives.
