Written by J. B. Hogan
Dreams floated in the brain like
slow-moving, puffy white clouds,
there were plans and hopes,
assumptions and expectations,
many starts and stops,
time came and went as it
must and only can;
there were beautiful times,
times not nearly so,
successes and failures,
mostly not either one
just traveling along the
path of least resistance
of tradition, of presumption,
not a bad path, nor good,
only a way to find, to learn
that there was, then, nothing
left to do and nowhere
for you to go, but out.
