As if some unholy valve
had opened up his larynx,
the naked king cried happily
through his layers of fog.
A hiss of suppressed amusement
escaped his sheathed fangs.
Slack jawed and rheumy eyed
with an air of lunatic determination,
he led simple men
to blasphemous illusions,
while making wise men
stand at attention, trapped
in excruciating intimacy
with the prophet of self-indulgence.
Not above such lewd debauchery
his dissonate thunder of profanities
sounded a little too thrilled
with his own shock value.
such grandiosity could not be
reined in by his keepers
or even the flotsam of his family.
Prancing in costumes of civility
to cover his naked greed,
he roamed his kingdom of dust mites,
watching his red magas
passionately stuff his garbage
into insufferable bags
while dancing in undulating rapture.
Meanwhile, the “enemies”
of this gaudy, ungracious
Authoritarian
simply craved safety and sanity
in their universe,
not being flung
to the mercy of blind chance.
Or, worse yet,
marooned in a sea of resentment and fear,
wasting their precious breath
hating this psychic equivalent
of rotting, decay toothache.
