Wundervei explores the experience and memory of the natural world through photography. Inspired by my personal childhood, the work visually describes my emotional encounters while passing through natural spaces. It aims to encourage the audience to discover a deeper connection between themselves and the natural environment through sheer visual pleasure and appreciation.

To create my artwork, I took photographs of scenes and moments I was drawn to while walking in a natural space. So, l overlayed these images in post production to create the final images.

Because I define memory as an impression that fuses visual fragments from different scenes I’ve seen during the experience of an event, this multi-exposure technique allows me to collect over time visual fragments from various scenes I’ve experienced and combine them into a single compressed image which represents the passage of time, visualizing my memory of the experience of natural space in physical form.

By digitally overlapping more photographs it is understood that they are initially perceived as paintings before the characteristics of the photograph become apparent after closer examination. Considering the role of photography and historical paintings in representing the natural landscape and, consequently, our memories, this series debates the opinion that photography is a mere technological process and a tool to represent realism devoid of human soul or emotion.
