Written by Brenda Mox
A whirling dervish
mixed up in raw silks
with no form of its own
rose up out of the Earth
laden with birdsong.
She stared up at
the dancing elder leaves
to watch the play of sunlight
through a curtain
of ivy and morning glories
blowing in the breeze.
The clouds lifted to a
golden dusty twilight
that touched the glossy curls
and fiery flushed cheeks
of a young maiden girl,
Daughter of Nature,
born ready for flight.
