Who We Are

As Istanbul Candid Street Photographers, with the power we gain from the synergy that arises from our differences, we want to make our mark in world photography with the moments we capture from the colors, light, and melodic emotions of this geography, and to represent our country with the footprint we leave behind.

Our mission is to bring our country’s street photography to the international level and at the same time to become one of the reference points of street photography in Turkey.

Our approach to photography also reflects our view of life. Our approach to photography is based on the belief that the truth is too extraordinary, simple and complex to be fictionalized, and at the same time beautiful.

We are the runners of a never-ending marathon who have been loving and respecting each other for a long time, running after extraordinary moments in the chaos and unpredictability of the city, in the pursuit of extraordinary moments in mediocrity.

Tamer Bayri

I started photography in high school years with black and white documentary analogue photography and darkroom works, later I continued to work in theatre, fashion and documentary photography on local topics in various magazines. I tried to improve myself in photography with autodidact training and workshops in Berlin. I led workshops in general photography for studio work.

Urban documentary photography in Berlin, Istanbul and other metropolises, portrait and classical nude photography in the studio have been my main themes. I like to work by adhering to the basic rules and aesthetics of photography and to tell stories with photographs.

Street photography, which captures the moments in which we experience a one-to-one relationship of photography with pure reality, continues to be the field where I have been working the most in recent years and where I have been striving to get good results. To be able to reflect the pure reality of the street and the dynamics within it in photography is the feeling that gives me the most pleasure to mediate a new challenge and adventure. For this reason, my most important goal in photography is to pursue photographs that have the power of expression without discriminating between black and white and color.

Portrait and experimental Nude-Studio works are always my indispensable passion, apart from that, converting my analogue photographs into digital photographs and archiving is another one of my pursuits.

I had a total of 6 solo and 5 group exhibitions in various cities.
