Humans have always sought to modify the environment, animals, plants to suit their own needs and are guided by their own ideas of what is beautiful or useful. This is often a rather crude job. Thus, domesticated animals have undergone radical changes, and not to their own advantage. By one-sidedly selecting certain ‘right’ qualities, we end up with sickly freaks who are totally dependent on humans… Mankind has also not forgotten about itself – numerous plastic surgeries, often far from aesthetics and expediency, modification of body, controversial experiments … Every now and then there is news about the creation of scientists’ chimeras, a hybrid of man and animal. What will it be, why and how will it end for us? How far will we be allowed to go?
Nailia Schwarz is a German artist and photographer who was born in Sankt Petersburg on 1976. Her work focuses on capturing the essence of the environment, flowers, humans, and their interactions, as well as traces of their presence. Schwarz’s work explores the beauty and fragility of nature and the environment, as well as the complexity of human interactions and emotions. Through her photography, she aims to create a visual dialogue between the natural and human worlds, highlighting their interconnectedness and interdependence. Her art is inspired by the subtle and often overlooked details of the world around us, and her images capture the intricate patterns and textures of flowers, landscapes, and human interactions.

My belief is that things won’t change until we are overwhelmed with distortion. Everything new and improved is not necessarily improved. Humanity is not satisfied. We need to be though with the blessings God has provided.
