In the beginning, there was fire.
Then came desire, destruction, memory, and silence.
This photographic series reflects a primal moment — the spark of a match, the flicker of a candle, the inhalation of a cigarette. These are not just fleeting flames, but metaphors of existence: how easily something begins, how quietly it can burn, and how inevitably it fades.
Each image isolates a fragile yet potent moment — the instant fire emerges, not as chaos, but as intention. Through hands absent or implied, through materials both sacred and disposable, these frames speak of control and loss, ritual and routine.
In a world saturated with noise and speed, fire returns us to the essential. It asks:
What do we ignite — and what are we burning away?
