This series considers rural churches in the winter prairies of Saskatchewan as quiet witnesses to faith, endurance, and change. Isolated within vast, stripped-down landscapes, these structures carry the presence of the communities that built and sustained them, even where signs of active use have begun to fade.
Some remain cared for, while others bear the marks of abandonment and time. Together, they speak to the tension between resilience and fragility, permanence and disappearance. In photographing them, I was interested not only in their architectural presence, but in the emotional and historical weight they continue to hold within the prairie landscape.

Artist Statement: My work focuses on landscape and structure as a way of exploring presence, absence, and the passage of time. I am drawn to places that feel quiet or isolated, where something remains but its original context has shifted or disappeared. Using a combination of in-camera techniques and digital processes, I aim to create images that sit between documentation and interpretation. I am less interested in recording a scene exactly as it is, and more interested in how it feels, how it holds memory, and how it might be experienced. I often avoid defining a single narrative within the work. Instead, I try to leave space for ambiguity, allowing the viewer to bring their own perspective and interpretation. The image becomes a point of entry rather than a conclusion.
