This work uses Polly Pocket houses, miniature objects that for decades represented idealized versions of home life, as symbolic spaces.
Through self-portraits within these interiors, the artist negotiates its architecture, turning carefully arranged environments into scenes of subtle confinement. She occupies the dual role of subject and object, oscillating between a staged and lived world.
These miniature environments evoke repetitive routines and restrained forms of limitation, producing a quiet yet persistent tension that permeates everyday life.
Alejandra Resio (Argentina, 1987) is a photographer and visual artist working at the intersection of image, performance, and everyday life. Her work explores themes such as gender, motherhood, identity, and the spaces we inhabit. She studied advertising and journalism in Buenos Aires and completed a master’s degree in contemporary photography in Madrid, where she currently resides.
