Highway 395 is a California scenic byway which courses up the eastern scarp of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. It is bounded on the east by the Inyo mountain range and traversed by the Owens river/aqueduct. It has a long rich history of Indian habitation, providing water for the city of Los Angeles (movie Chinatown), movie making for westerns, and plenty of grist for the photographer. This series of images were obtained over the years from areas proximate to highway 395.

David M Weber (DM Weber), born 1954, North Hollywood, CA, is an LA-based fine art photographer.  He has a BS degree from UCLA in Psychobiology, and did some graduate work in Computer Science at California State University, Northridge.  His career was as a software engineer for numerous e-commerce companies and specialized in categorization AI.  The amateur interest in photography began with a photography course in high school using film and printing paper with a darkroom.  Inspiration came from the landscape efforts of professional photographers such as David Muench, Elliot Porter, Galen Rowell, and Ansel Adams.  His photography interest is mostly landscapes but has also ventured into other categories.  His motivation comes from his love of the outdoors and the Bible;  Psalm 142 and Psalm 148 testify that God's creation was created for the benefit and enjoyment of man, and only man has a deep-seated appreciation of beautiful places all over the globe. His work has been published in magazines and websites.
