What if our world were nothing but a chimera?
What if it were not so much a matter of re-enchanting the world as it is of re-enchanting our view of the world?
This series began with images of industrial wastelands into which I placed zoo animals, as a way of setting them free and also of emphasizing that in these abandoned places, animal and plant life will outlive humanity.
And then, shifting our perspective with a single element added to a landscape was a way to highlight the visual poetry that surrounds us and to which we sometimes become insensitive.
Biography: With a background in art studies, and working as a painter, graphic designer, and photographer, Karine Chavas is a “weaver of images“ closely associated with the neo-pictorialist movement, a visual in-between that allows us to question our perception of images and reality.
