A rare phenomenon of huge spiders’ cobwebs. Treated wastewater, rich in organic substances, creates ideal conditions for uncontrolled reproduction of mosquitoes. Millions of “Tetragnatha nitens” spiders gather and lurk for mosquitoes. The plentiful food during the summer and autumn seasons enables the spiders to reproduce in huge numbers. Huge curtains of cobwebs cover the vegetation along Sorek Creek, near Jerusalem, Israel.
