A man walks.

In the cold and solitude.

He crosses a snow-covered landscape.

Little by little, the walk turns inward.

Not a human voice.

Sometimes, the crack of a branch.

A journey among intimate ghosts.

In a silence inhabited by what weighs heavily.

The path continues.

I made these photographs in a cold, bluish light, created at the moment of shooting by setting the white balance to 3200 K. Slightly overexposed, some details begin to fade. Forms dissolve, and at times the man seems to merge with the landscape.

Nature is not merely the setting for this passage. It becomes an essential presence, a silent witness to an inner journey, a possible space for transformation.

Laurence Paryzak is a French photographer based in Lyon. Trained in photography, she attended workshops at the Rencontres d’Arles and developed an early practice rooted in black-and-white analog photography and darkroom printing. Since returning to personal photographic work in 2021, she has explored different visual languages, allowing each project to find the form that corresponds to the experience from which it emerges.

She develops an intimate and sensitive photographic practice in which reality becomes a space onto which perceptions, emotions and inner resonances can be projected. Her work has been exhibited in France and Scotland. In 2026, she received Honorable Mentions at the International Photography Awards and the FotoSlovo Awards and was selected as a finalist for the Gomma Black & White Awards.
