In Until Memory Do Us Part, photographer Patrizia Riviera documents the gradual cognitive and physical decline of her parents following her father’s fall in 2017 and the onset of dementia. The project reflects on loss of autonomy, dignity, and memory, shaped by personal grief and the isolation intensified during Covid19. Riviera, a contributor to Edge of Humanity Magazine, uses photography to process bereavement, remember her father through personal objects, and confront her mother’s progressive disconnection from reality and family.
