Luigi De Rosa, contributor to Edge of Humanity Magazine, presents images from his project Naples. Born in 1995, De Rosa is a freelance photographer based in Vasto, Abruzzo, Italy. His path into photography began in the summer of 2019, when he visited Naples with his mother while preparing for the admission test at the “Accademia di Belle Arti”. Although he did not pass the exam, it was during that period that he realized his passion for photography.
A lifelong cinema enthusiast, De Rosa approaches photography with a cinematic sensibility, treating each image as though it were a frame from a film. This perspective shapes the way he interprets and documents the world, fusing visual storytelling with artistic intent. His project Naples reflects this vision, offering glimpses of the city through a lens informed by his interest in cinema and narrative construction.
Through his work, De Rosa establishes a connection between photography and film, using his camera to imagine and capture scenes that suggest broader stories beyond the frame. His photographs stand as both documentation and artistic interpretation, revealing his emerging voice as an Italian photographer rooted in cinematic aesthetics.
