Indian Snake Charmer

The Indian snake charmer has been in existence for generations in countries like India. The snake charmer travels around the country performing for people on the street. He uses a musical instrument called the pungi which is a gourd. The Snake charmer’s like to use cobras. Interestingly, the king cobras cannot hear ambient sounds. The snake is captivated by the movement of the snake charmer hands and the gourd. National Geographic has a very informative page on the king cobra.
