Man Meditating – Ganges River in Varanasi India

It was early morning along the Ganges River in Varanasi India. I took this photograph of a man wrapped in a saffron color robe, meditating on the Ghats, with the sun beginning to pierce the overcast smog filled sky.

* Peacefulness

* Relaxation

* Just being in the now

The past enters and I sometimes dream of the future. It can be difficult to live in the present moment all the time. Being a writer, poet, and also 100%+++ Gemini causes my mind to bounce from one thought to another.

Sitting meditation as well as walking meditation on the beach and in the garden does help to calm my mind. The ego can also enter and muddy the water. Further, I’m a very active and a curious person which causes me to become enthusiastic,consumed, and makes it difficult to relax the mind. Is there perfection? No, just a lifetime of trying to live some moments in the present.
