Written by J H Martin @ A Coat for a Monkey
Back
When it was prolific
Back when
It wasn’t so hot
Not the beats
Not the party equipment
Not the one night love
I mean
That moment
Wide eyed
Smiling
Loose fit
Energy
It was alive
It moved
Not in tribes
But as one
From front to back
From side to side
Long before
Today arrived
Making it real
Too real
Straining the breath
Slowing the body
Replacing the wonder
With cruel whispers
And illumination
With splintered thought
Time
Please
I have had enough
I am packing up now
I am staying at the beginning
