Welcome to the “rate me” society!
It seems like I can no longer interact commercially without being asked verbally or by a machine to rate something or someone.
I do not see where customer service, goods or services have improved since this ‘rate me’ invasion came into shore.
Consumers must dance, shout and finally beg a machine before the connection with a real person is made. During this very anticipated live conversation, we (the consumer) are promised results, we receive multiple apologies, and also are frequently asked to rate the experience at the end of the call before the initial problem is even solved.
As a result consumers are getting increasingly frustrated and the people behind the counter more paranoid about the rate they may get from a customer.
Which kind of society is being created when the citizens are lured into watching each other’s move and report to ‘The Watchful Satan’? All free of charge! And the big kicker is that after you (the consumer) whether pour your heart out during a heartfelt feel good review or an angry one, a human never gets to read your words.
