Stroll with my grandfather,
the pond
the ducks,
girls walking who didn’t do much to me.
Feeling secure,
holding his hand.
He bought ice cream,
the ice fell off the cone.
He bought me a fresh one.
I loved this man,
all in my memory now.

This very much reminded me of the time that I spent with my Grandfather, he was quite elderly when I was born but we used to go everywhere together, he used to potter around at a friend’s garden just doing odd bits here and there but we sat on a hammock swing before coming home or I’d go to the barbers with him and he’d sit for hours just talking away.
My fondest memory though is sitting on his knee watching our favourite TV show Dad’s Army.
I too felt safe and thank you for awakening those precious memories, he left this mortal earth when I was 10 some 47 years ago ❤️.
I hope that you continue to share your thoughts with us and that you have had an enjoyable day today 💙🙏
