The mile wide highway my mind used to be
Now a cul de sac, narrow misery.
The open space of heart’s horizon,
The white lines barely dry to drive them.
No turning points or slow cortege,
Cut from the wreckage in my head.
The surface camber disaffected
The battery’s failed, it’s disconnected.
