Cruel
Tongues like blades.
Lacerate my feelings.
Words.
Permeate my brain
as they cut me open with goodbye.
I succumb to the pain.
Wounded,
they wait for me to surrender.
So I let them play their game.
Then I spit out the words they said.
Now, I am removing myself from this butcher’s slab,
watching them eat the shit I was made to eat as I bled.

The words hurt, more than we imagined, and yet, we still let them come out, without, running them through our, minds, first.
