Pub interior, Melbourne, from a time when a glass of beer was 80 cents and a pot was a dollar. …. err, not a recent pic. That big white thing that bloke is trying to control is called a newspaper. Buy one each morning for 20 cents and find out what happened yesterday.
Stork Hotel, Elizabeth st Melbourne, long gone. They look like a meeting of Mafioso, … I am sure they are tradies discussing a contract … err job, maybe concreting work.
A long exposure time adds a new dimension, the beers, the patrons the decades and the photographers, all translucent ephemera.

Taken in the same pub in 1991 as the photo “Observer” uploaded some months ago of a lone male drinker at the same table with his attention to the outside street, contrasts markedly with these two ladies with their internal attention to each other. A point that’s not important, perhaps mildly interesting.
