Every night

I have a dream.

Tinged red

Ringing with sorrow

From my throat erupts a siren scream

As below I see my prey.

Run boy run.

This lady

She has a gun.

Run man run.

To her,

This is really fun.

Broken words

Soar through the air

Sweet.

Bitter.

Arsenic covered lies

Poisoned their hearts

While you made tarts

Hidden in the dark

Fingers reaching

Pinching.

Take cover son

For the Furies

They come.

Rising from misted depths

Gossamer cloth

Moves with grace

Inching forward

Until there they stand

Beautiful

Fearsome.

Staring down at you.

Arms raised

Chanting begins

Electric energy in the air.

Eyes

Red with rage

Grow ever larger

Encompassing you.

Never should have made her cry.

Want to die.

Narcissistic bastard

We hunger for you.

Your cruelty

Our nurishment

Allow us to bleed you.

Fresh blood

Tinged in fear.

Heads cocked

Maws widen

Feeding of the darkness

The blackness

Pulled from your soul

Ignoring the shrieks

Filling night air.

When I waken from these dreams

Never tired I be

But energized

Satiated

Burning with an inner glow.

I do wonder though

Are my dreams

Just that; dreams?

Or is there a reality

Hidden beneath the surface

Deep within the pain

For most nights

After dreams of death

Of rage

Of sisters three

Headlines sceam

Once more a man found

Bled of blood

No loss

Bastard he be.

I look in the mirror

Noticing once again

A dot of red at mouth’s corner.

Absently I wipe it away

The hunger already growing

For there is no shortage of men

Who use violence

Who use drugs

Who do without empathy

Or compassion.

And tonight

I shall hunt again.
