Written by Maria Mathew
Comets only ever crash and burn
Yet lure in dreamers to flashes of naked love
With poetic licence to claim all who bask in my momentary devotion
In between my verses i break unspoken rules
I’ve travelled worlds carrying Atlas’ burden
To fall on a bed of reckless high of beautiful mistakes
I fill my pages with a million different stories
And lock away my favourites into a tapestry in the hidden chambers
My intestines crawl their way into my chest
When i think of the stories I’ve locked away
All that’s lost in translation pours down on me
And i resort to my art of painting a new illusion
Maybe I’m a poet of sorts
Falling for little pieces of every stranger
Etching them in rose gold in my fear of no tomorrows
Licensed to never belong but claim all i ever seek
