Written by Thom Kerr
Last night, I dreamt of distant thunder,
rumbling and echoing through the nearby canyons.
It spoke to me and told the truth, but
the words were evanescent, fading as quickly as they appeared.
The remaining words are complicated,
hyphenated, foreign, long, perplexingly spelt, and enigmatic.
What do they mean?
I believe them to be incendiary pronouncements.
I don’t care.
I don’t take the contentious statements personally.
They roll off my back
like the rain that follows.
