This series is an exploration of everyday life and fleeting moments; all photographed in Valencia. The images reflect Ana’s evolving interest in how emotion and presence can emerge from minimal scenes. Drawn to shadows, silhouettes, reflections, and contrast, Ana uses black and white to strip scenes down to their essentials. It’s an ongoing attempt to capture beauty in the ordinary and overlooked.
Ana Marin is a Brazilian-born photographer based in Valencia, Spain. Working in black and white, she explores themes of presence, vulnerability, and connection through street photography and candid portraiture. Her visual style often features strong contrasts, shadows, silhouettes, and reflections. With a background in philosophy, Ana brings a reflective, observational quality to her work. Her photography journey began while documenting nonhuman animals and spontaneous moments during travels, but in recent years has shifted toward street photography, drawn by its immediacy, unpredictability, and emotional potential. Ana is interested in how photography can reveal honesty and emotion in everyday scenes and continues to develop her voice through the ongoing exploration of the streets around her.
