Written by Tansy Gunnar
A sacred knife, I hold.
Exchanged for my axes,
While we momentarily fold.
Blazing infernos kicked our asses,
Fighting hellscape battles, left untold.
Sounds of heartbeats thump in my ears.
Reminders of horrors, leaving hearts cold.
The moment you turned your knife,
To your own chest,
I confess…
It left me a mess,
And I pray that you get some rest.
Thump,
Thump,
Thump,
Knowing, nothing will hurt you.
Not ‘til you’re battle-ready,
This is what we shall do,
Remain here, until you’re ready to continue.
