The concept of the “American Dream” promotes social success and equal opportunity.

It is an ideology based on the idea that every individual, regardless of their social or economic background, can achieve success and improve their circumstances through hard work, determination, and creativity. This concept is deeply rooted in the history and culture of the United States.

Although the American Dream is often idealized, it is also criticized for the social and economic inequalities that persist, calling into question everyone’s ability to realize this dream.

The United States is full of abandoned places that tell fascinating and mysterious stories. These sites, left to decay, bear witness to a vibrant past, offering a glimpse into human stories, ambitions, and lost dreams. This photo series highlights the unusual beauty and evocative character of these forgotten places.

Through this American “journey,” a whole world of imagery comes to mind—that of my childhood, as seen through films, magazines, and advertisements that I used to gaze at, dreaming and letting my mind wander.

These photographs represent a vision of my American dream—one that is certainly worn and weathered by time—that I am eager to share with you.

Bio

As a self-taught photographer for over fifteen years now, it was when I discovered the exploration of abandoned places that my passion for photography truly came to life.

I was immediately drawn to the atmosphere emanating from these places, devoid of all activity yet still so steeped in the history of the people who once brought them to life.

During my travels, I sought to “capture” these places, charged with intangible emotions, through my photos, as a testament to times past. I quickly felt the need to travel the world in search of new places and new atmospheres. I love to quietly enter these sites steeped in history and let myself be immersed in their essence. Through my images, I try to tell their story and share it. I play with light and shadow to capture, as faithfully as possible, the atmosphere of these deserted and somewhat mysterious places. I also use perspective to make it easier for the viewer to step into the scene I have photographed. I want each of my photos to tell a story.

Sooner or later, these buildings will disappear. Nature will have swallowed them up, or humans will have destroyed them to build new ones. Don’t they say that “life is an eternal cycle”?

So, only the photos will remain, forever serving as a memory of a forgotten era.
