In Edge of Humanity Magazine, Chloe Ronco presents Pinfeathers, a photo essay about her mother, her two younger sisters, and herself. The project addresses cycles of abuse, addiction, and mental illness within a working-class family and the repetition of these experiences across generations. Through intimate portraits made over two years, Ronco brings her family together, using photography as a tool for healing, advocacy, and connection. The work emphasizes survival, love, and resilience while calling for greater mental health support for young women whose struggles often remain unseen.
