David M. Grossman’s Psychometry Series explores the idea that human life, thoughts, and feelings are recorded and preserved within our creations. Beginning in the 1980s, Grossman developed the series by photographing friends and family in the studio and combining their images with photographs of manmade environments in Los Angeles and New York. He experimented with matching and blending the images, eventually sandwiching two negatives together and printing them as a single image. The full series contains 32 images.
