Ana Leal’s Menos Pausa (2019– ) is an ongoing body of work reflecting on the female body as a living archive of time. Created around the years surrounding menopause, the series considers physical, emotional and symbolic transformation. Through photography, experimental processes and tactile interventions, Leal uses layers, fragments, gestures and organic elements as metaphors for memory, vulnerability and resilience. The project challenges the framing of aging as loss or invisibility, proposing transformation as an expansion of experience and inviting viewers to reconsider the marks of time as traces of a life continuously being rewritten.
