Laura Zimmerman’s Travel Impressions explores places through Intentional Camera Movement and multiple exposures, prioritizing color, motion, and the feeling of being somewhere over literal representation. A Pacific Northwest photographer based near Seattle, Zimmerman began experimenting with techniques that alter reality after retiring from portrait photography in 2020. Her work developed through experiments with Lake Sammamish during the pandemic and later expanded through travel. She continues to explore how photography can transform familiar and new places into softer, simpler, and more emotionally resonant impressions.
