My name is Adriana Palermo. I was born and raised in Catania, but after studying architecture, I moved first to Florence and then to Zurich, where I currently live. Photography has always played an important role in me, but it's only been a few years since it became a means of expression. It's my silent diary, the place where emotions take shape and the world around me becomes a story. Through my lens, I observe people, I linger on the smallest gestures, I imagine stories born from everyday routine: moments stolen from time, fragments of life captured fleetingly, which in crowded cities brush against each other, intertwine, and then dissolve, only to find each other again, countless times. This intimate gaze is intertwined with my research in documentary and reportage photography, which develops through my numerous travels on the one hand and my exploration of the traditions of my hometown on the other. Through ages, I search for that in visible thread capable of uniting people and places, memory and the present.
