Jérôme Chanussot’s Surreal and Creative Photographs series presents a shifted perspective on everyday life by placing ordinary objects, gestures and situations into unexpected relationships. His work explores absurdity, humour, dreamlike imagery and allegory, creating alternative meanings within the frame. Working predominantly in black and white, Chanussot constructs a stripped-down mental space where familiar certainties become uncertain. His influences include Man Ray, Chema Madoz, and the French traditions of absurdity and wordplay associated with Pierre Desproges and Raymond Devos. The work aims to disrupt perception and encourage viewers to see the familiar differently.
