Matteo Bergami’s Dobryden documents everyday life in the villages of Ispas and Vyzhnytsia in Ukraine’s Carpathians of Bucovina, during his two-week visit in July and August 2025. The project examines ordinary life continuing alongside war, bringing domestic moments and signs of wartime into the same visual frame. Bergami describes Dobryden, meaning “good morning,” as a record of persistence, where shared meals, mass, football, music, and everyday greetings take on significance under constant threat.
