Giulia Filippi’s Perfectly Imperfect is a self-portrait project that questions and deconstructs the visual codes, aesthetic standards, and social models imposed by contemporary life. Drawing from her own experience of feeling out of place, Filippi uses staged fractures of identity, symmetry, and social expectations. Through conceptual and surreal language, she distorts, overlaps, erases, and exaggerates the image to explore identity, social pressure, fragility, and resistance. The body becomes a vehicle for emotion, reflection, and provocation, creating a visual space where vulnerability and what does not conform can be revealed.
