Leon Lenk’s series ‘Abbaye Sainte-Marie de Valmagne’ explores the preserved medieval architecture of the abbey in southern France, where Romanesque elements and Gothic structures coexist with stone, light and vegetation. The series approaches the abbey as a spatial experience rather than simply a historical monument, using carefully composed views, architectural details and moments of light to reveal its character and atmosphere. Lenk is an Edge of Humanity Magazine contributor whose photographic work includes this exploration of a place shaped by centuries of permanence.
