Not Always So

Practicing The True Spirit Of Zen

Shunryu Suzuki

” Instead of respecting things, we want to use them for ourselves, and if it is difficult to use them, we want to conquer them.”

(page 81)

Hermit Poet’s Comments: Has entitlement become the hit song of today? Does gaining an edge make one feel superior? Is it OK to only take advantage on a small scale? Stronger countries throw their weight around and the powerful and wealthy buy influence. Trickle down lack of respect will only create more corruption in society.
