In past generations, the changes occurring in our daily lives had a structural component. Bridges and buildings need to be built in order to bring progress. Laws needed to be passed to bring social changes, and the new acceptable behaviors were methodically woven in by the newer generation. The stories of our daily lives were told in years and decades.
The recent change in the aspects of our lives slaps you in the face when you watch the many reruns playing now on TV.
The reluctance of change is not necessarily narrow mindedness on the part of an old crow like me that just refuses to engage with a Smartphone. I have a philosophical issue; I believe that like religion (but that’s another wasp’s nest) the cell phones have a single goal to control our minds, collectively. So I use it selectively, to catch a ride and transfer images straight to my computer, other than that I could not tell you my cell number.
Changes are induced into our lives, we can circumvent for a while, or not at all. But when forced to engage, you do not have to buy the whole enchilada, use what you need and leave the rest alone.

“I will not make you dependent on me. My approach is to find alternative options under a circumstance and open new doors into a resolution of old problems. Clear the docket so you can see things from other angles as you absorb other possibilities. In time, after you had conquered your needs, you will be able to replace what does not work, accept what you cannot change, and accomplish what you want.”

Neutrality comes with the price of being disconnected. Society is composed of like-minded people; teal lovers search for bluish-green connections, and the burnt sienna worshippers choose to navigate a path that’s deep reddish brown. Embracing the color wheel will yield richer exposure and isolation.
There is no glory in neutrality.

I absolutely agree with you. I am going nuts with so many changes: political, social, financial, you name it. We go back and forth, sideways. It is chaotic. A commenter above said: improvement. Exactly. I agree. But these changes going on right now are holding us back.
Thank you for this post. I realise I am not going crazy after all, lol.
I have a saying… change is bad, improvement is good. When something changes it’s usually for the bad, unless that change brings some form of discernible improvement. Technological (and other) progress has some great examples of change being for the worse, especially where quality and simplicity takes a hit.
this is true. so many so-called improvements everyday… take what works for you and disregard the rest.. thank you…
